Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider handles the request and displays its response. Davidson County Criminal History does not retain or record those query terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be kept long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine technical information is generated when a browser loads a page. Server and analytics records may include:
- Page-view dates, times, and duration
- Browser name, version, and operating system
- Device category and assigned IP address
- Pages viewed during the visit
- A referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure traffic patterns, popular pages, and points where visits end. Analytics vendors may combine those observations into aggregate reports. A browser can reject cookies, although disabling them may change how some site functions behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Davidson County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its content explains how to reach the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Court Clerk, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Government-source access may be governed by the Tennessee Public Records Act, principally T.C.A. §§10-7-503 through 10-7-505, plus court and record-specific limits. Visitor information is not used to create a consumer report or a criminal-history file about another person, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the embedded search tools. A partner's privacy terms govern information entered there, including retention and disclosure. Those practices are beyond our control, so the relevant provider policy should be reviewed before a query is submitted.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Metro, sheriff, court, Tennessee agency, legal-aid, or commercial pages. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's policy controls that activity. Check its terms before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Their technology, rather than ours, performs that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- A search provider selected by the visitor
- Analytics vendors measuring use and performance
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used for collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and this policy does not promise that unauthorized access can never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under age 18. Information identified as coming from a minor will be removed when a valid request is received.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary by residence and by whether a law applies to the operator or processing activity. The Tennessee Information Protection Act, T.C.A. §§47-18-3301 through 47-18-3315, and the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, T.C.A. §47-18-101 et seq., may provide protections within their scope.
