Why We Built This Site
Tennessee law provides access to many government records, subject to confidentiality and redaction rules. Access still depends on choosing the custodian. In Davidson County, Metro Police holds incident and arrest reports, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office holds booking and custody records, and the Criminal Court Clerk holds filed charges and dispositions. TBI maintains the state criminal-history repository and sex offender registry, while the Tennessee Department of Correction publishes felony custody and supervision information. The site brings the official search links, office details, request routes, and documented fees into a clear local framework.
What You Will Find Here
- Official access routes: where Davidson County court, arrest, booking, and registry information can be found
- State check details: how TORIS name checks and authorized TAPS fingerprint checks differ
- Local office facts: which records belong at the Birch Building, MNPD Central Records, or the DCSO Records Center
- Expungement context: how Tennessee relief begins with the court that entered the disposition
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of a Tennessee court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Those boundaries limit what the site can provide:
- It cannot retrieve a criminal record or perform an official records check
- It cannot submit an expungement petition, public-record request, or court filing
- It cannot certify court papers, repository histories, or jail records
- It cannot provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, disposition, or sentence
- It cannot promise that an agency's hours, address, fee, or procedure has not changed
An official copy must come from the office that maintains it, such as the clerk, DCSO, MNPD, TBI, or another issuing agency.
Search Partners
Outside companies power search boxes that appear on some pages. Each provider controls its service, prices, results, and data practices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports access to the site. We do not set the provider's charges or decide what its search returns.
